The Section of Child and Youth Psychotherapy
On 17 June 2015, the General Board of the Polish Society for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy approved a motion for the establishment of the Section of Child and Youth Psychotherapy, filed by the Members of the Society interested in the issues of psychodynamic psychotherapy addressed to children and the young.
The section was established for the following purposes:
- to promote the development of psychodynamic psychotherapy addressed to children and the young,
- to promote the development of psychodynamic psychotherapy in the perinatal period,
- to expand the knowledge and skills of psychotherapists in the field of human development, and also the tools, techniques and phenomena of the psychodynamic psychotherapy addressed to children and the young,
- to disseminate knowledge about the uses of psychodynamic psychotherapy for children and the young in different environments and professions: teachers, educators, doctors, social workers, probation officers, etc.,
- to integrate the community of psychodynamic therapists working with children and the young.
These objectives shall be accomplished through seminars, lectures, workshops, supervisions, trainings, courses, conferences and scientific research.
